One: Deal with it.

Two: Go to court and plead guilty. Then explain to the Judge your remorse. In 30 years of being on the other side (the badge wearing side) Judges hate people pleading innocent and then explaining why they were guilty.

Take a defensive driving class, or online drivers training class BEFORE you go to court and bring the certificate to class to show the Judge.

Good luck,

Ranger K. has it correct. Take a lawyer if it make you feel better, but he is not getting you out of being clocked by a Helicopter.

Bill, that is an oddly specific "hypothetical" but if it had happened my advice is to go back there & drive that stretch of of road 65 MPH in reverse thereby canceling out the original offense.

Man that's pure genius Tick! I just called, and they said the ticket wouldn't even be in their system for 4-6weeks (what was that about the dark ages?). In the mean time, I think i am gonna take an online driving course and talk to the prosecutor before i retain a lawyer.

I know out of state offenses will eventually get you a suspended liscence no matter where you live, have experience from "losing" a ticket from a road trip.... and then to find out about it for a friendly stop to tell me my brake light wasn't working. But really no contest is the best route, you did break the law so innocent is a lie, but no ever does exactly the speed limit, or at least no one around here. A deffered or defensive driving alone most likely will not take care of it, but should help at least keep it from killing your insurance and record. Best of luck man, got to hate those helicopters.

Taking a defensive driving class and bringing the certificate shows the court you have remorse and are taking the Citation seriously.

I'll bet few defendants show up in Maine traffic court having done so in advance.
