I forgot to respond, but I completely agree that there should be a section in the classifieds to report good deals and bad. I don't know how many people have been burned here, but this would definitely help limit the bad, IMO.

Just my two cents.

God thats cr** sorry to hear that. That can give everyone a bad name especially folk like me who dont use this site as much as they used to, but may sometime in the future ask someone to get something for them or buy direct off them..I'd always pay by paypal and up front anyway and off people i knew were regular posters on here.
A bike website i go on has a classifieds section which is soley baseed on trust, used this many times and never come across a problem..Shame there is some scum out there :(

Do we have two confirmed people who ALPAR ripped off? Is this what I am hearing?

sounds like it, and a slew of others he tried it to, including me...I felt edgey about him, now I can see why..A tragedy in such a good place.

At least two who definitely got ripped off, and possibly more who just haven't said anything yet.

Anything we can do with his address? I know it's a long shot, but I'd love to see some sort of justice in this case.

No, not like a pipe bomb. Like, mail fraud charges or something. Probably not doable, but if anyone has *any* suggestions I'd love to hear 'em.

Damn, that really sucks. That's the same message I received...

And the prejudice I had for romanian people is not a good thing... but this time it saved me a Thump2. He definately is a criminal, he can't have 5 24k Juliets that he could trade.

Sorry guys.... that really sucks.

Sorry to hear that. And sorrier, that I didn't do something about him earlier given his connection to garage0racing. This could have all been avoided. I have cought a few people though. Joining the site and then PMing a lot of people offering the same pair. Got those before it got too far.

If anyone has his email, you can try using it via eBay to track his number and address down using the following method:

1) Go to Advance Search
2) Find Contact Information
3) Type in his email.

With luck, someone in this forum might have done some transactions with him and able to get his contact info via eBay. If anyone has his email, you can try to PM it to me. I will see if I can help.

If you have his e-mail, search for it on Google and see what comes up. Also, you must have his contact information if you sent him your glasses, so look that up on Google also. You will probably find that other people have had problems with him. If you do in fact have his contact information (address, etc.), contact the police in his country and see what they can do. Getting the police involved is pretty much all you can do.

Tried the Google route, and tried E-Bay, too. No avail.

Absolutely no idea how to go about contacting cops in Romania; methinks a stolen pair of shades would rank fairly low on the list of crimes to be looked into.

Anyone here know anyone from Romania?

That's true, but it sounds like he's ripping off more people than just you. It it were a one time occurrence, the police probably wouldn't spend time on it, but if there are a lot of people with your same complaint, there is a better chance of them doing something to help you.
