I finally bought a pair. They definitely work, but the difference in shade is not very noticable. I will say that I can see with them fine both inside and outside in the sun.

It takes a while for them to activate fully. The change will get quicker each time you wear them.

What tint did you buy?

I have the Rx emerald iridium transitions and it goes from almost clear to quite dark.

When clear it does produce a lot of halo's though.

The transition also does take some time so for example when you're riding a bike from a clear patch into the woods don't expect the lens to clear immediate. For walking though it's fine.

Will definitely buy some more transition like grey to black or gold iridium

I have a square W 2.0 in grey transitions RX from 3 months. Now they work fast, but grey don't became very dark in the sun. Indoor they are like normal lenses (they would be better with the anti-reflective coating, but I forgot to order it)

Black Iridium Transitions would also be slightly darker in the end. (15% absorption vs 17%) Emerald Iridium Transitions would get the darkest. (12% absorption)

i didn't know the Romeo2 came in the Black Persimmon/Grey Transition lenses... let alone any Transition lenses, unless it's some kind of custom?

i would've gotten something with Transition lenses if they'd release the Black Persimmon/Grey transtition lenses in Wires instead of the VR50/Brown. c'mon, most O-Matter frames has both, why do Wires have to be stuck with one lens option? give us choices!

I was told it's because Persimmon -> Black is more sports and VR50 -> Brown more lifestyle. Makes sence to me, eventhough I like Persimmon -> Black more.

Just read somewhere that the transition effect will stop working after a few years and the lens would remain dark.
Is this true??

I don't know about Transitions V - which is what Oakley Transitions realy is - but I know earlier photochromatic lenses (i.e. 'Transitions') would become slower and eventually more dark over the years.
By then, you'll have new glasses anyway.

Thanks Edwin, that put my mind at ease a bit. Oakley should be more forthright with this information.

As for having new glasses by then: yes I hope to have a lot more glasses in my collection by then but I wouldn't like to have to think about them as 'disposables'!

I see your point, but please remember that I don't know the specifications about Transitions V, since it's only on the market for about 6 months now.
I always sold photochromatic lenses as an extra pair, not as main glasses. But then again: glasses have always been 'disposables' to me as had about 3 - 5 / year.
