Hip to be Square-O

Goin on a hiking trip in a month. There's gonna be some steep terrain, waterfalls, caverns and such. I'd like to find a water resistant, light, breathable shoe or boot with good wet surface traction for the occassion.

I'm leaning towards the Flak because the Gatling looks too heavy, the Casing appears to be for winter conditions (unless someone proves me wrong), and the SI and Teeth arent water resistant. The SI boots I have now slip terribly on wet surfaces so I need somethin better.

Any suggestions?

Based on your criteria, Flak Jacket sounds like the best bet only if Gatling (or Gatling Four or Six) is too heavy, since they are all waterproof. A number of people here own them so hopefully they can chime in on that. The Gatling series look they might stand up to rougher use than the Flak, but I'm just going on what they look like.

Hmmm, I just bought a pair of the older SI Boots last night (night camo). I'm gonna be working in Michigan over the fall and winter and thought they might do reasonably well in the snow. I kind of assumed that since they made a "snow camo" version, it should be fine, now I'm starting to rethink it. I found them at my local O Vault for $75 so I guess I can't complain about a 2/3 off discount.
