I have been wearing the same Juliets for several years now, they are the perfect sunglasses. Around a year ago I wandered into a sunglass hut and tried on a new pair of Juliets, they felt very tight fitting. Now that I found this site, it seems that the "flex couplers" on the nose bridge are not all the same, with some being more flexible than others? I'd say mine are very flexible, lending to the great comfort factor. I'm thinking about buying another pair and considered buying off the oakley site, but it looks like I should go to a store if this is the case.

Love the site, never knew you existed.

It's been known that the X metals "moulds" to fit you with use. This is what makes them comfortable and unique for different wearers..

I'd instead be rather worried if the new frames were NOT tight. They will loosen naturally over time and fit better. Unless it is a very rigid pair that requires some effort to flex, i think you should be pretty safe. I am guessing your older pair was also much tighter back then.

they're hit or miss. Quality Control has dropped off significantly in the last few years. Some of the X-Metals are even shipped with one side fused. You're probably better off buying from your OPD if you can.

It could be quality control, I agree that Oakley hasn't been up to par with their previous productions. On the other hand, X-metals do take time to get comfortable. My first pair when I was a youngen fit my big head tight. Now that same pair fits my head beautifully!

Well I bet you guys will think this is pretty funny, but I must preface this by saying I've had these for years. I "thought" these were juliets they look the same in pictures, but after trying some juliet replacement lenses with these I soon found out that my glasses are actually XX xmetal, not juliets. I also confirmed with the serial number.

So that explains why the juliets I tried were too small as the XX is a larger frame :) And now I also discovered that Oakley does not make a polarized lens for the XX, which is what I wanted.

So...guess I'm out of luck and need to find a different frame if I want something polarized, is there anything that comes close to the XX which I think is the perfect frame for my slightly larger head?

Try Spike or Monsterdog....both are equally cool in their own way and fit the larger cranium nicely....

Plus, both have nice color/frame/lens options.....

zif, if you take the 25 temple shocks out and insert the 15's they may fit you a lil better. I have a large brain dome and that works for me. However, I do like the fit of the monster dogs, gas cans, monster doggles, and new straight jackets too. But I heard the xmetal xx's fit a big head too? The romeo ver 1.0 fits a larger orb too. Good Luck.

Zif, if you have only a slightly larger head then any of the options already listed should fit you just fine. But...if you want the best Oakley has to offer for Monster Noggins and style too then bite the bullet and get the BI Polarized Romeo IIs. I promise you won't be disappointed.

I knew why they were on there what I don't know is what they represent. mm? Some opthamalogic measurement? JJ's random number assignment like session 1242? Age you should be to correctly fit you?
