Hey guys,

I'm going to Florida over Xmas break and I promised myself I would stop by one of the O Store in the state. I noticed there are a few in Florida (Jacksonville, Orlando, etc.), and I was wondering if you could tell me which one is the most worth visiting and obviously purchase stuff? Coming from Montreal, this will be a first for me, and I want to make sure I'll visit the coolest of all in Florida ! Thanks

I would say it depends on where you're going in Florida. If you're going to Disney or Universal, the Orlando O-Store is at the Florida Mall. It's pretty good. I've also been to the one in my hometown of Miami. It's in Dadeland Mall. They've got a decent selection, although they seem to be much busier than the Orlando store. The other three in the state I haven't been to. Tampa is on my list, as is the one in Sunrise (Ft. Lauderdale) at at Sawgrass Mills mall. I've heard that one has a good selection of older, discontinued models (eg. Old Zeros). When I go home for Christmas break I'll be able to check it out. The store in Jax would have to be really good for me to drive over there to see it.

So, I guess it goes back to my original point; Where're you staying while your on your trip?

Well I'm going to Daytona beach and I'm coming from Montreal, so all except Miami and Orlando are more or less on my way, and I'm spending two days in Universal (Orlando), so really I can go to any, it's just a matter of knowing which one I should go to. Cuz the thing is that I'm going with my parents and they promised me we would go to one...

Flying I hope? If that's the case, most people fly to either ORL or MIA. The drive from Orlando to Daytona is about 90min, from Miami, the drive to Daytona is about 4-5 hours. The Orlando O-Store is right near the airport. If you're driving, I'm sorry. That's a hell of a drive. But, if that IS the case, you'll probably only drive by the Orlando store.

Geography lesson: Orlando is pretty much in the middle of the state. Tampa's west-central, Miami's south-east, and Jax is in the NE corner jutting into Georgia. Daytona Beach is actually pretty close to Jax, but Jax is a pretty boring place to be unless there's a big game. I'd suggest going to the Orlando store. Parking at the Florida Mall kinda sux, but there's tons more less interesting place in the mall besides the O-Store.

I actually am driving down, but I've done it before, it's not that bad, I drive fast. So I'm spending the last two days of my trip IN Orlando, probably staying actually very near the O Store, so thanks again, I'll tell you what I think of it ! My sentences will obviously be made of "amazing"s and "Oh my God"s...and I'll probably cry when I leave the place, or I can just squat in the backstore and live happily for ever in the middle of Oakley Boxes ! :)

Im heading out to orlando in about a month and it seems from the oakley website that the store is in the airport. Has it moved since then? If someone knows this area well please give me directions.

In orlando at Universal's City Walk, there is a surf shop with a really good oakley selection, if your in that area.

100% agreed Todd, that surf store is definitely like 3 times better-equipped in Oakley gear than the Oakley store in Universal, let-alone the O-Store in Orlando too ! Hit that store man, it's Oakley paradise ! At least it was when I went there a year and a half ago...

The Orlando (Florida Mall) O-store has by far the hottest (female) staff of any O store.

While you're down here, stop by Downtown Disney and see me!

I think the store had to conform to the style of the surrounding buildings in order to preserve feeling of the district.

when I went to london last summer, the store had just opened a few months earlier. their in-stock selection seemed pretty decent to me, though they had tons of empty space since it's a big store.

my theory: Adam got there before you for his weekly (or bi-weekly) shopping spree.

Guys,

A friend of mine is going to travel to NY soon. Seemed to me to be a perfect opportunity to send her on a mission to get me some O Store exclusives or Monsterdog that are not available in Europe.

Any suggestions from you guys out there?

i don't think they have these anymore, but there's newer designs for the SoHo tees and hoodies.

Pix of the tees that are now available. If I'm gonna send her on a mission, I have to give her a roadmap... ;-)

Love the print on the tee and hoodie, by the way!

i haven't taken a photo of the current tee they have but it's the New York City skyline going across the front of the shirt with the typical Oakley font that says "Oakley SoHo NY" or something like that below it.
