Hey guys... new to the site. I have a question...

How and where? (re:Topic)

Also since the original Romeo's are being discontinued, you can send that pair in and they will replace it with a pair of Juliets or X-Metal XX's of the same value.

Welcome to the site. As I understand your question it seems like to have Romeo I's and want some Juliets? Basically HQ will "trade" you a new pair of juliets for a pair of origional Romeo's if your lenses have started to crack or fracture near the nose "X".

I was tempted but Romeos are too much of a collectable pair for me.

Unless you have a beat up pair of Romeo 1, I don't think it's a good trade. It would be silly to trade in a Romeo 1 just because of the stress crack.

Hmmm....
Can you guys fill me in?

My lens have cracked about 1cm on both sides on the top part of the nose bridge. Is this a known problem with the oakleys? In that case I would prolly want to switch to Juliets as they feel more contoured and have the option of polarised lens.

Who do I need to contact to make the swap?
I am in Brisbane, Australia, however I'll be heading over to Peru via LA in mid November, where I'll be able to go in myself as opposed to having to send it off via mail.

PS
Thanks for the warm welcome. =)
This site has been a great refernce site for me for over a year now. I didn't even know the forums existed until now.

Oakleys are such an expensive addiction
that and Batman comics....
With the $$$ I am putting into both, who can afford drugs

I have a pair of Romeo's, a pair of Juliets (which I have lost =( ), and a pair of e-wires, eye jackets, and original frogskins as well as a wallet and backpack

Very nice Stevie & welcome to the site. Too bad about the Juliets. Does anyone know if Oakley is still offering the trade deal?

I believe this system only works with US customer service, but you cna give it a try. Depending on who picks up the phone, they'll either trade it up to something in the low end of Juliet's, while others may let you get a 24k XX. It used to be free, but they charge a $50 assessment fee now.

They charged me an extra $50 for the 24K but I was told it was because of the retail difference

the $50 charge is if it's out of warranty. Though you'd need to really wear them 24-7 to blow the lens inside a year.

I thought if there is a large retail difference you have to pay the difference.

some CS people won't let you, since it involves extra steps in the computer system. I tried to upgrade to Polarized, and they wouldn't let me. Shrug.
