so i'm checking my watch ( GMT ) to see what time it is, and overhere it is now 17.30pm

so when my GMT is correct, Bong at your place it is now 11.30 Am

and in LA it is now 09.30 .... Correct ??

yup... that's right. but it'll be all messed up again once we adjust for Daylight Saving Time sometime in the Autumn.

i gotta set up my GMT once that happens as well...

EDIT: actually, LA should be 8:30 AM.

And daylight's savings will be 3 weeks earlier this year to mess up everthing.

whats daylight savings ? is it just as overhere where at one point in some month , the clock gets put back an hour ?

By the way overhere it is now 23.10

that's exactly it Fred. the general rule is "Spring Forward, and Fall Back." that means when Autumn comes around, we turn our clocks back one hour, so for example 9:00 PM becomes 8:00 PM. then this lasts half a year until Spring comes along, and we turn the clock forward one hour.

New York is three hours faster than Cali, so if NY is at 5:30 PM, Cali is 2:30 PM. the Continental U.S. is seperated by four time zones, going from East to West... Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific.
