Family: X-Metal

Every X Metal frame has its place and its combo that helps it shine and Carbon is no different.

This color is the perfect combo of Matte mixed with Polished Black and when combined with most brighter lens options (Ice, Fire, Ruby) it not only helps the lens color POP, but provides the contrast needed to help the glass jump out at people while on the face. I was thinking Oakley might have been phasing it out when the Juliet line was pared down to this frame only on the Ducati edition, but they have since issued it in the X Squared with the Black Iridium and the OO polarized lenses. Good....its one of the company's best frame colors

A pointless color option that destroys the lines of the Juliet/Romeo 2.0 under 90% of the lighting conditions. All you have is a black frame that becomes indistiguishable from any other cheaper frame that has been produced in the last decade. Sure, any lens color can virtually go with them, but then the focus is taken from the frame and placed to the lenses themselves - which could be achieved on any pair of Oakley's, metal or not - at a fraction of the cost. I have a pair that came with a car I bought, and I have a pair of Carbon Romeo 2.0's - both relegated to display purposes only. Out of the 20 Juliets I own, Carbon is the least worn, least attractive, and will be worth the least (from a Collectors standpoint) in years to come since there are a dozen different variants of color that are more appealing.

I found my own in the Juliet through this frame color. I never really did like the Juliet; basically it’s your Oakley that every guy on the street wishes he had (or already has). When you keep seeing one too many Juliets on the street, it kinda turns you off, no matter how desirable they’re supposed to be. Well that was only until I found out about the Carbon frame option till recently.

All other louder frames shades: Polished (which I find the most annoying) looks too old school mid-‘90s (the Juliet has been around for quite sometime mind you), x-metal (ok, but nah), plasma (not my cuppa tea), which were more commonplace didn't cut it for me. Until I stumbled upon this frame choice and was amazed by how different it looked, and how it complemented all my favorite lenses.

As a rule of thumb, this frame option goes best with extreme lens colors (which I prefer), at either end of the spectrum (e.g.: black, um that's about it for dark colors, and for extremely bright colors, Fire, Ruby, 24k, +ve Red and Ice (older more mirrored versions). I don't think it does very well with in-the-middle contrast lens shades like the VR or G20/30 range, or even emerald, which actually looks more silverish green than outright green (vs G26, or hyper green from other non-OEMs).

I already have polarized Fire Iridium lenses in my first Carbon Juliets (w/ serial). I'm going to get myself a 2nd pair for work (with black iridium polarized lenses), cos it can go well with anything and at end of the day, it's basically a color that I would want to wear.

Very nice, goes well with every lens option and is suitable for every occasion. I like the fact that the frame isn't uniformly black but there are colour nuances which gives it more depth.
