Frame ~8/10, no lenses currently mounted. Large eBay glasses frame reseller accepted my offer for $35 on a listing with a $60 buyout price, far less than the Titanium frames are worth. They shipped it in a tiny box made of the same material as the boxes McDonald's uses for burgers. Only a single piece of tissue paper for packaging. Naturally, the frame was squished, probably when a negligent postal employee tossed the crushing weight of 4 or 5 plain envelopes on top of it. When I requested a refund without returning the frame since it was wrecked anyway, the seller refused and admitted they would sell the loose ear stems for $45 ($10 more than I paid for the entire frame). I was livid. They repeatedly ignored everything I said, including the photos and statements showing that the ear stems were also bent. Their replies were generic but not scripted, so it was obvious that I was dealing with actual humans, but they just didn't give a shit. I let it go until the return period had 2 days remaining, and I contacted them again. At this point, I just hoped for a partial refund, so I offered that as a remedy. Nothing for several days, followed up yet again. They replied saying that their system showed the return window still open (objectively wrong by almost a full week), so I should just do the return process and ship it to get my refund. The same shit. Again. It must have been the 5th or 6th time. All pretense of civility drained from my psyche as I read yet another reply showing that they hadn't even glanced past the first sentence of my carefully crafted, polite-but-increasingly-frustrated messages. I loosed a full-scale rhetorical assault at them and demanded to deal with someone who would at least read my messages and respond point by point. Someone finally did talk to me in less canned terms, but they were just as dense and unreceptive. They tried to end the interaction multiple times, but I refused to let it go and continued making my points. After 4 or 5 more messages from me, I finally got another response..."We are issuing the refund in hopes not to hear from you again." 10 seconds later, the PayPal notification came through with a full refund, which was 2x what I was requesting by that point. I managed to bend the frame mostly back into shape, although it will never be quite right if I had to guess. Guess I will find out when I try to mount lenses. Aaaaand, that is the story of how I acquired a rare Ti Crosshair frame for free by refusing to fold and badgering the hell out of a dreadful eBay seller. ?
