Distressed Blue Box Sets - Dann Few days late on this, but have some information on the new box set. The Flak Jacket and Radar Path will be coming in a set similar to the holiday boxes. Both sets will come Black Iridium, VR28 Black Iridium, G30 Iridium, and +Red Iridium. Flak Jackets will be $350, and the Radar will be $450. Despite looking like the Craftsman or Petterson weathered effect, these are prints and not layers of paint.
Thanks to Greg for the in-store photos.

Collector's Spotlight - May 2013 - Dann May's spotlight goes to someone who is heavily into customs and experimentation. His prize possession is a Factory Ice Mars, but his hand decorated tribal designs also deserve some mention.
Frogskins LX - Dann The Frogskins LX have been out for a while in Japan, but are now hitting state-side. Sadly there's no Ti Clear option, but some Asian Fit models have been making there way to the main site. These are the Acetate versions, much in the same vein as the Jupiter LX.
Oakley Co-pilot Event 2009 - Dann Following up the Co-pilot Slideshow, here is the video from the event. Contains an interesting speech by Colin Badin, and some interior shots of Oakley Headquarters. Be sure to enable subtitles, as the speeches can be hard to hear.

Airbrake MX First Look - Dann Vital MX has a first look at the Airbrake MX, and a few pictures as well as video of the goggle in action. Worth a look.
Oakley Craftsman Collection - Dann If you were a fan of the Petterson Frogskins, but couldn't snag one of the 50 pair at retail or otherwise, Oakley is releasing a new collection taking styles from the weathered frame finishes of that previous release. There will be two Frogskins, a Holbrook and a Garage Rock.
Icon Awards 2012 - Dann Okay, the votes are tallied, and we have our 8th annual Icon Award results. Few results remained from previous years, but the Juliet was finally toppled, and I don't disagree. First up:

Collector's Spotlight - January 2013 - Dann A little late, but we have the first Collector's Spotlight up for the year. Please head over and give it a read.
Collector's Spotlight - December 2012 - Dann After a brief month off, we return with another Collector's Spotlight. This time we hear from Thomas Sorrells, a specialist in Frogskins and other hard to find pieces. Give it a read
Icon Awards 2012 - Dann It's that time of year again, where we vote on the year's best offerings, and I try to think of a new color for the trophy image. Being a man, that's VERY hard to do.
And put in your entries. As always, remember that except for the New Release and O-Review specific questions, the items don't have to debut this year, just be available during the year. So high hopes for the SI Boot and Kitchen Sink to snag the win again. I'll be thread bumping throughout the month, and we'll tally things up come the start of the year.
O-Review Network - Dann We'd like to welcome our first two sites to the O-Review network, O-Addicts is well known for formerly being oakleyfr.com, but now run by Francois and is an active French speaking community of knowledgeable members.
Our second networked site is no stranger to most, but if you've seen some great looking customs floating around, chances are they have been through the Chop Shop. What started as lens cutting, turned into full frame renovations that give the stock options a run for their money.
Aape Collaboration - Dann Frogskin collabs are too numerous to count at this point, but company 'A Bathing Ape' included their signature Moonface logo with a 4-legged Frog pack. More info can be found at Hypebeast
O-Review Video Series - Dann I've added a page that collects the video series, we've created. We've gotten many new visitors through them,, but they are collected in one spot now. Give them a view if you haven't already. There's been a lull in production, but there's some good ones on the way. Stay tuned.
Gearbox Automatic - Oak The inspiration behind this Oakley timepiece is the engine of industry that forged civilization. All that mechanical beauty is refined into Gearbox Automatic, a limited edition with definitive styling.
The accenting bronze bezel will take on its own character by forming a natural patina over time, achieving a finish that echoes the finds of antiquity. This self-winding timepiece features the uncompromising precision of Swiss Made, 25-jewel movement (Swiss made auto-mechanical, ETA 2824-2).
The back of the titanium and bronze chassis bears a sapphire window for viewing the integrated mechanics, and a screw-down crown maintains resistance to water pressure equivalent to a depth of 330 feet (100m). This rare Oakley instrument optimizes comfort with an Unobtainium rubber strap matched with a titanium buckle.
- Price: $1895 US / $1950 CAN
- Limited Edition: Only 300 total units produced (initial allocation to about 61 stores)
- Unique: a watch designed to change its appearance based on its owner
NATURAL PATINA OF THE BEZEL
Oakley timepiece designs are an expression of originality. Gearbox Automatic carries that authenticity further with a bronze bezel that forms a natural patina over time, a finish that echoes the finds of antiquity. As the complexion of the bezel gradually changes, it takes on your individual personality by becoming a memoir of where life takes you. With its own rare aesthetics, this chronicle of experience will be unique - no two bezels will change in exactly the same way, and each will be a distinctive legacy of its individual wearer.

O-Review on Facebook - Dann Finally added a page on Facebook for the O-Review. I should have more daily posts on there for current happenings and releases, so subscribe to keep up to date.
Collector's Spotlight - October 2012 - Dann The spotlight for October goes to a member that would like to keep a low profile, but still show off his collection. A few good stories in this one, so give it a read.
Collector's Spotlight - September 2012 - Dann The spotlight for September goes to a member who has been quite visible on the Facebook groups and decided to join us for a feature here. An ever generous collector, please give Anton's spotlight a look.

Collector's Spotlight - June 2012 - Dann Another consecutive month of Spotlights, yay. This time from the land down under with Jamie's massive collection of only the best. Check it out.
Database pages - Dann I've tweaked the database pages a bit and returned the option of listing all items for a given category. I've also removed the columns and given each item its own line with a bit more data. Also added are the years of release, which despite being in the database, was never really used until now.

8th Anniversary - Dann Welcome to the new site: version 9. There's a lot of things that changed, but I've mainly tried to eliminate all the page hopping. I've also finally gotten around to condensing the database section into one set of pages rather than a unique for each, so the look and feel will be more consistent.
Also I'm tinkering with some membership options, so we should be able to add new accounts a little easier shortly.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A New Yorker who conspired with two men to sell fake Oakley sunglasses has been sentenced by a federal judge in Portland to six months home detention and five years probation.
U.S. Attorney for Oregon Karin Immergut said Monday that 35-year-old Yu Chou imported the sunglasses from China and supplied them to Kirk Bachelder and Kevin McAfee of Salem. The Salem men then resold them over the Internet.
Immergut says Oakley spent years trying to stop the trafficking operation before asking federal authorities to step in.
The Salem men had been previously sentenced to home detention and probation. The three defendants agreed to collectively pay $183,000 in restitution to Oakley.

When you think of Oakley, hockey may not be the first sport that comes to mind, but think again. With over 100 players in the NHL wearing Oakley hockey shields, the brands presence on the ice has been second to none. Then throw in the fact that Oakley is known for it’s superior protection and vision and you have a winning story to tell any Oakley consumer / fan.
We told you that we’d let you know how our little play date with the tank went, so here goes:
CEO Scott Olivet kicked off the event with an impassioned speech wrapped neatly around the $1 billion celebration and the history of our family behind all that success.
The G.O.A.T, Ricky Carmichael, was ferried in on a monster moto truck that burned rubber all over the helipad before delivering a few words of his own.
On the big day:
“I am really excited for Oakley to have reached this goal. I’ve been
with Oakley my entire career and they have helped me reach all my goals – they’re still helping me today with all my future goals in NASCAR.”
Is a helipad crazy? A moto racetrack? We’ve got those.
Cannons? Torpedos? Running the skull and crossbones up the flagpole? We do that, too.
Take a loop around our Interplanetary HQ and it’s not hard to see why we’re known for doing things a little bit different here. And shortly, we’re going to do different in a very big way.
We got a tank.
We’re going to run some stuff over.
And 2,000 of our closest family members are going to bear witness.
