You may never be rid of me..... :-)

One last question. I promise.

To your knowledge are any of the E-Wire Gen 1, E-Wire Gen 2, E-Wire 2.0, or E-Wire 2.1 lens interchangeable?

Dann,
Thank you very much. I think those photos did the trick. I'm relatively certain that mine matches the "E Wire Gen 2" photo. That is the only one that has such distinctive earsocks.

Thank you for your time and expertise.

Dann,
Thanks again for your time and thoughts.

I just discovered your database. Now I am confused. Not being an Oakley "aficionado", when seeing the terms "E-Wire Gen 2" and E-Wire 2.0, I naively assumed that they were the same thing.
Am I to understand that there were "E-Wire 1.0 Gen 1", "E-Wire 1.0 Gen 2", E-Wire 2.0 (no Gen designation), and "E-Wire 2.0 (no Gen designation)? And that when someone refers to E-Wire Gen 2, it is really E-Wire 1.0 Gen 2?

FYI. My right stem, bow, arm has an "CE" on it. The only other writing is the "OAKLEY" on the bridge. Does this help determine their model?
I have also never had the earsocks off. Might there be identifying markings there?

Thanks for the prompt feedback.

The reason for my query.....my lens are original and a little beat up. I saw a "new, original" gen 2 gold iridium pair of lens for sale at a decent price. I emailed the seller stating that I did not know the generation of my glasses, but that they were purchased new in 1994-1996. He stated that gen 2's were not marketed until 1999, so mine had to be gen 1.

So now I'm really confused. Is there any way that I could have bought Oakley e-wire gen 2.0 sunglasses from a brick-and-mortar bike shop in mid 1990's? (I re-married in 1999, so am quite certain that I had the glasses at least a few years prior to that date.

I did take advantage of the old Oakley re-furbish program and mailed the glasses to Oakley in the early 2000's for a general tune-up....I had no critical damage. I'm sure I would have noticed if I sent in a gen 1 and they returned a gen 2. Wouldn't I?

Thoughts?

Can anyone tell me what generation these e-wires are? (sorry for dangling participle)
I'll gladly supply additional photos.

Daahhh....photo upload not working for me. Thoughts? Possible size constraints? (1.3MB & 1.7MB)
