Hi. Thanks for accepting me as a member but I want to be honest right up front. I recently purchased my first pair of Oakley's, an older pair M frame, Gen 2. My concern is that they are fakes. I think I have exhausted all avenues of research, including contacting Oakley, without satisfactory results so I have turned to this forum for help. If this is not an appropriate use of this forum please let me know and I will withdraw.Thanks.

Thanks, Dann. I had had a feeling this was one of those, "too good to be true" scenarios. But I did learn a lot in the process.

I'm glad to know that. Based on my research the arm of the M Frame Gen 2 was enhanced at the hinge for reinforcement due to breakage issues with the Gen 1. So the arm, starting at the hinge, was tapered all the way back to the first bend as opposed to the Gen 1 where the taper stops about halfway. The pair I have has the Gen 2 icon at the temple but does not have the enhanced arm. I admit my research may be faulty. Also, the frame has a metallic black/green color that I have not found on any of the other frames I have seen. Do I have something special or just a dud?
