Paul and everyone else who has an RD ring, any thoughts on long term wear and durability? I've been thinking about a Clover or a Gatling, but I've never been able to pull the trigger because I'm not a big jewellry guy (though I love the design and creativity). I guess I'm needing a convincing reason to give me that little push.

I would sure give them an enthusiastic recommendation. I continue to enjoy my ring tremendously. The design, style, materials and machining are top notch. I'm not a jewelry guy at all, but I think these are the best excuse to have a decent wedding band (my prior band was a ridiculously cheap basic band off some generic website).

From my emails with Matt, the Revolver might be slightly more comfy, since I believe it is the only ring in the collection with the comfort curvature on the inside of the band. Since the rings are Ti, the size is what it is - no re-sizing the ring as I get fatter over time. I have been happy with the durability of the band, with daily use and no special regard for extra care. It isn't a magical material, though, and do show a couple minor scuffs.

They a great, though likely not considered inexpensive, but I think the value proposition is there if it is a daily wear. Particularly for those of us who don't normally care or wear jewelry, all the more reason to make that one piece awesome.

Lastly, I would recommend just starting an email dialog with Matt. The information provided is helpful, and the tech and passion bleeds through his messages.

A pic from 2009 (I think), prior to the first wave of RDZN jewelry released to the public. On the hand looks to be a precursor to the Soulmate series of rings (looks to be similar to the consumer release but minus the centre insert):

Mine is the Revolver style, so a bit different. As Oak said, that one looks to be unreleased, or an early prototype, as the 3 related versions in production have 3 rings bolted together - not the 2 rings there. I am just tickled that Oak is so into jewelry at the moment!

Yeah, go figure. Never thought I'd see the day where I'd put so much effort into rings. That said, with the stuff RDZN puts out (especially those bracelets), being a jewelry fan is fully justified.

That Armadillo bracelet is pretty crazy stuff. I take a look at the website from time to time, hoping to someday find what the C6 Armadillo is priced at. I already know it is one of those "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" scenarios ... but I already know I can't afford it!

Rumor has it to be priced around $50,000.

Yeah, I saw it at $53k as well but this was on just this one obscure site. I suppose we can always ask if we are really, really curious...

On another note, there doesn't seem to be any reviews of RDZN rings on the net, so I'll quickly jot down some of my research and thoughts.

I think it's obvious that most people would want to own the Revolver because of the design and marketing behind it (you hardly hear anything about the Soulmate series). Meanwhile the Soulmate rings (Gatling/Discus/Clover) embody the crazy design cues that all of us Oakley fans love. With that, all RDZN rings are awesome and it comes down to which once you can see yourself wearing for years.

By all rights, the Revolver is probably seen as the flagship ring. It has overly elaborate product design and is a vastly more impressive engineering feat than the other rings. From what I've seen the Revolver looks more refined, classy and elegant when worn compared to the others. I wouldn's say any RDZN product has "understated elegance" since everything is quite beautfully outrageous, but the Revolver is probably the third or fourth most low key of the entire product lineup.

On the other hand, the Gatling/Discus/Clover smacks you completely in the face with its over-the-top sci-fi aesthetics. Their angular design cues, modular construction, flag and serial number etchings make it seem like it came right off a Robotech Macross robot. The ring WILL draw attention when worn because of its size and its design features. It's right in your wheelhouse if you like beautiful mechanical sculptures.

I can't comment too much about comfort, but feedback seems to indicate all the rings are super comfortable. The Revolver has comfort fit, so it might be a tad more comfy to most, though can run smaller in side due to the inner arch. The Gatling/Discus/Clover has a larger side profile, so your side fingers will feel it slightly more than the Revolver, but it's not hugely noticeable unless you make a tight fist.

The Revolver packaging comes with a solid round metal cannister called a Depth Charge, which weighs around 2 lbs and is 6" in diameter/2.5" in height. I was told the Depth Charges come with the Revolver and up, so I don't know what the Soulmates come with (but is probably pretty cool as well). The package is rounded off by being put into a black faux leather drawstring bag (not sure if the Gatling/Discus/Clover includes this bag). For shipping, The package is enclosed in a black bubble wrap envelope that has a silver decal of the RDZN logo affixed to it. This in turn is shipped using a standard FedEx box that is sealed with tape adorned with the RDZN logo (which speaks volumes for the company's attention to detail). Oh yeah, the rings come with a certificate of authenticity/ownership as well.

Ultimately, it'll be a super tough choice as to which to buy; they are all awesome and masterful works of art. As mentioned earlier, it comes down to which one speaks to you the most and which you can see yourself wearing day in and day out.

I can see a similar dilemma with Oakley purchases: Do you want something with sophistication and engineering excellence like the Juliet/C6 (Revolver), or do you want something with old school Oakley craziness like the OTT/0.3 (Gatling/Discuss/Clover)?

Good luck with your decision!

Kudos Oak! Nicely done. I don't have a RDZN product yet but just from what I have heard from friends and seen online I would have to second your statements. I love what RDZN produces. Amazing stuff! I also love the terminology and names as well.

Awesome write up, Oak. Couldn't have said it any better.

I am afraid to seriously look at anything outside of the line of rings - as it seems a slippery slope. One day you get a turbine pendant, the next you have $50+k of carbon fiber on your wrist.

The extents of our Oakley passion and collections are fanciful thinking for most ... so all these wishful thoughts towards RogueDZN can surely become a reality. Right? LOL

If nothing else, I can tell that someone has been talking to Matt at RogueDZN a plenty!

Paul, I'm actually surprised you haven't made a play for a bracelet yet, even if you are holding back on looking at other stuff. RDZN products are really addictive and the pull is strong; once you get a ring, you'll have an itch for at least a pendant.

Here's a pic of the Depth Charge. Claims are very hard to believe, but would be pretty cool if true:

Also some side-by-side comparisons between the Clover and Revolver:

A pricey one. Love it! Just not sure what else you could get without spending thousands more. I'd buy a depth charge if he sold them separately.
