Well out of my range now, unfortunately. One of my all-time favourite non-splash pages/covers:

Great pic. What I wouldn't give to be a collector back then.

Grabbed this. Bummed that I missed out on the original, and they're being scalped for $400 now

Very Nice. I need to rummage through my foot locker at my parents house and see what forgotten gems are in there. I'm missing out.

Following the other Adamantium/Platinum/Vibranium editions comes the King Size Jack Kirby hardcover slipcase for $200 MSRP.

http://comicbook.com/2014/12/17/king-size-kirby-hardcover-announced-by-marvel/

I'm down with that. It's a super-sized coffee table book, and being a fan of Jack Kirby's art, I want it just to see his art on such as a scale.

Been on a '90s art binge lately. For all the complaining about 1990s art by comic fans, I can't get enough of it. Todd Mcfarlane, Jim Lee, Stephen Platt, Joe Mad, Alex Ross, Dale Keown, Whilce Portacio, Joe Quesada...the more the merrier. Just bought Absolute Batman: Hush and the Jim Lee X-men Omnibus II to enjoy the art in larger format.

Omnibuseseses for the month.

This actually finally got my Wishlist down to just some out of print stuff that I keep there to remind me not to wait so long next time. The second printing of the 'New' X-Men Grant Morrison run is still available fromt third parties for not too much, but I imagine that will slowly creep up. I passed on the main Age of Apocalypse omnibus since I collected all of those as they came out the first time. That's now triple the price, as is the Inferno arc (I did pick up the companion and the prelude in my last two batches).

So hopefully I can just get into a pattern of picking up the new releases as they come out. I should document what I already have, as I was a little cautious about getting the arcs, in favor of just grabbing the full runs starting with the Silver era, and the Uncanny, but I wasn't sure if those would happen. Seems they will, it's just taking forever.

Fantastic purchases!

The secondary market for these omnibuses is outrageous. I'm still looking for the Iron Fist omnibus but am not willing to pay $150-200 for a used one.

Imagine 20 years ago telling yourself that the originals are going to be worthless, and to invest in the reprints when you're an adult.

Finally got around to reading the entire Sin City saga through the "Big Damn Sin City" book. Very quick read. Not as impactful as when I read some of it back in the '90s., but not bad.

Read the latest Marvel OGN, Avengers: Rage of Ultron, recently. Meh. I usually love Rick Remender's work, but not on this one.

Still got a bunch of stuff from Valiant to go through. They're probably my favourite company nowadays.

I'm getting the PunisherMAX omnibus by Jason Aaron soon as well, so I'm looking forward to starting on that.

Oh yeah, a reminder that Free Comic Book Day occurs in less than two weeks on May 2nd.

Secret Wars Box Set $500. $390 on Amazon this Fall. Seems excessive, but I love my 80's Marvel.

Great week for me this week. Got the PunisherMAX omnibus earlier in the week, the X-men: AoA Companion omnibus is on its way, and today's delivery includes the Avengers: Vibranium Collection, Planetary omnibus and Sleeper omnibus:

Has the world gone crazy? $35k for a coverless copy of Detective Comics #27 (with pieces missing out of several pages, no less)! There goes my hope of owning a complete copy one day. Should've bought one when I had the chance:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Detective-Comics-27-DC-Comics-1939-1st-Batman-Gordon-complete-COVERLESS-CGC-/201314375996?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2edf45993c&nma=true&si=etFpO5jix9Qvtl9YGSfD%252BABG4t0%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557#ht_128wt_1153

At least there're still deals to be had like this Action Comics #1 (assuming it's the real deal):

For this month. It seems I overpaid for the Asgardian Book, but it was out of print, so what can you do. Oak swung me over to getting the Infinity Gauntlet Ombnibus over some other choices, and I think that was a good choice.

Luckily I grabbed X men vol 1 locally. The store owner had a copy in the back. Course I still need Inferno, and that's skyrocketed
