I've been collecting photos from people in an attempt to document the weekend. I have a few sets and I've used the date stamps on the images to synch them up to the second and create a flowing representation of the weekend from all angles and perspectives. It's turning out well, but I'm extending the offer to others who took photos and would like to be included. The catch is, I'd need the originals right from the camera since they contain the date data which is essential. I'll also include any video from the event.

I hope to combine all this into a DVD that I can release for everyone. If possible, I'd like to include some of the competition videos as well since that would create a nice opener.

If you're willing to help out, please PM me, and we can figure out a way to get the images over and included. Hope this will make a nice keepsake.

I don't have too many photos - mostly from a Thursday visit to Carlsbad Vault and HQ. But I would love to be able to sift through some of the photos or end up with a disc of photos at some point - mostly to slam something together on Shutterfly and put together an album.

I've got 1473 photos taking up 3.84 Gb as of now. Anything else willl certainly add some extra view points though. If you only have a couple, e-mail them off to me and I'll put them in.

Cover work for sure, and the insert. I can whip up a menu in Lightwave pretty easily.

I was actually battling with myself as to whether I wanted to participate in the paintball games, or whether I wanted to take pics. As much fun as I had, I'm kind of wishing I had taken pictures instead.

Dann has all of my pictures, crappy though they may be. I'm gonna spend the next week trying to correct all the good ones so we can add them to our gallery.

I got them all converted to JPG and in order. Everything is synched to the second, which is cool to browse through now. You can see everything as it happens. It's interesting to see someone in a photo with a camera, and then the next shot shows what they were taking a picture of. This will be very cool when it's done.

Are you planning on doing any image correction? If so, I'd love to offer my assistance.

What a cool concept.

I guess I'm the only one that's shocked to think that everyone's cameras had the correct date/time settings?

It didn't matter so much, plus with time zones, that was a moot point. I just took one set, and found pictures that were taken at the same time between each set, then found the difference in time, and did a batch process that adjusted all the dates taken. Then used Adobe Bridge to rename them based on time, and voila, instantly have a folder of images that are in order.

But yeah, took a while to get there.

Nicely done.

Do you do any of this kind of work for a living, or is it just a hobby/passion?

You can enjoy doing your work. :)

There's two ways to classify work:
1) That which you have to do to make money.

2) That which makes you money. :D

So, I guess what I'm asking is, I've heard you have 3 jobs. What are those jobs? (Sorry, I'm still new)

No worries.

My 8 hour job is at a College doing IT work and system implementation for the new Student info system.

My second job is 12 hrs/week doing project consulting for various government things.

My third job is teaching a technology implementation course at the local university, so teachers can effectively use it to enhance their curriculum.

I also do side programming for various things, but that's at bay for now.

And on Saturdays I teach little kids how to skate.

Of those, only the latter is really enjoyable. I just like photo and video stuff and don't want to ruin it by deadlines and all that fun stuff.

All those things sound kewl. My mother is a high school teacher, and I have to teach her how to better use a computer to speed up her work. That is not fun at all. ;)

The teaching kids to skate thing is awesome! Do you mean ice skate? Or skateboard? (I'm a hockey goaltender. By hobby, not profession :D )

A friend of mine is a photographer/reporter for the city newspaper. It's a hobby for him, as well as his work. :)

Ice skate. It's a learn-to-skate program, so both for hockey and figure. But at that level, the goal is just to not fall down too much.

And the OR on top of that as well. I don't think you have enough on your plate, Dann. You really should keep yourself more busy during the week.

Ok, I gotta bow down to a guy that goes out there and teaches kids to ice skate. :)

Do you play any hockey? Figure skating?

I wonder if there's enough guys on here that we could put together a team :D

Dawn had an awesome idea. What about using Black Betty on the DVD? The same version that Oakley used in the video they showed us.
Anyone know which version that was? In my searching tonight, I think it was Spiderbait, but Dawn's not 100% convinced.
