Some doofus is wearing my OCP Crosshairs.

I was on my way to Phoenix early monday morning and stopped at the chairs (before the US AIR security checkpoint) to get my bags open and prepared for the seucrity line. I had my XHairs in the AP Sunglasses case attached to the outside of my AP Computer bag. IN the 20 ft I walked from the chairs to the security/x-ray bins, the case came off the side of the bag (flaw in design- it's only secured with 1 little snap- no velcro).

I didn't notice it until after I had taken everything out of my bags and taken off muy shoes and belt. D'OH! Had to pack everything up and go back out to look for it. By that time, it was gone.

ANGRY!

I had to hang out outside of the PHL airport Sunglass hut to get a replacement pair of X-hairs. At least they have a return policy.

IMNSHO, the design of the AP Sunglases case is CRAP. It's AP for crying out loud! Its supposed to attach SECURELY to the other objects in the AP line. What MORON thought that a 1/2" snap would be "secure"

Anyway. It's been 4 days and I'm still rankled.

I almost know your pain: the snap fastener on my AP case broke when I performed the high-risk manoeuvre of taking my AP Sandbag out of my car. Luckily I noticed the case hit the ground and didn’t just walk off. Which idiot decided that a metal snap would be better than Velcro? The only good thing is that I didn’t lose my factory custom +red Monster Dogs (they were in the case at the time).

Now I’m trying to work out how to attach Velcro to the case so I can actually attach it to things it is supposed to attach to. Any ideas anybody?

I"m getting another case and taking it to a shoe repair guy. They usually have sewing machines with needles thick enough to sew velcro through the straps.

Sorry to hear that, Dave. Good luck with the modifications to the case - let us know how it turns out.

That sucks dude. I've had that dropped stomach feeling before too.

Before modifying another case, you may want to consider just putting a drop a red Loctite in the button snap and letting it set in. Thats what I did with mine, and its not going anywhere. If you really need to get it undone, it will pull apart with some force.

The Loctite isn't a bad idea but with my case it wasn't that the snap came undone: the snap is still closed, it's just broken! As in the part which is on the case and snaps into the part on the strap broke into two pieces. You may well break the snap when trying to open one which has been closed with Loctite.

Besides, it's supposed to be an AP (Adjustable Payload) case not an APYHASASGWY (Adjustable Provided You Have A Screwdriver And Some Glue With You) case!

Locktite is a good idea. I take it off the computer bag thought too. Arghh.

Took me 12 hours to get home. Not a good trip.
