I just grabbed a Gearbox (without battery) for a friend, and before sending it to him, I checked the crown, to see if everything was fine.

Actually, I'm not sure if it is or not.
The crown can be pulled to setup the time, but when pushed back, I can't screw it into the case, like the crown thread is messed up.

Is it normal on that one ?

I just tried it an it worked. The page has to load fully and then a script kicks off to bring up the form and pre-fill it. If you have another browser, can you try that and see if it works on that.

When the Co-Pilots toured HQ in 2009 they demonstrated the ANSI testing with their glasses and competitive brands, and it was amazing how bad some of the competitive frames performed.

The question is: Do all Oakley releases still pass the ANSI test by hitting the bullseye? I have a feeling they do not on the women's frames, since they seem to have a Luxottica feel more than an Oakley release.

The sports and some models in the SI line still are tested and pass for ANSI Z87.1. Lifestyle and casual pairs pass the lower standard of Z80.3, which is still industry standard for non-ballistic eyewear.

Any truth to the Oakley Watch program going under... Along with all the lay-offs they just had?

Yes, word is there's truth to it. Time to scoop up all those O watches if you've every thought about it.

Red/Blue Australian Edition - They showed up at Vaults back in December 2011, unannounced, and quickly sold out. They were my first Holbrook... I was actually planning to pick-up the Shaun White Editions, but opted for these instead.

Looks like Chris beat me to the punch, but in my search someone listed it as 'Jetty Surf' so I assume that name came from something.

I appear to have two in the DB. Tagged as Australian Red-Blue editions, and being sold by Surf Drive n' Ski

Yup for the Racing Jacket -- it's just the nosebombs that are different so just switch those out.

Silly question, anyone ever heard of Prototype lenses finding a backwards way to (us) the market?

I have a Radarlock Pitch Prizm lens, I've been told from another collector I buy from that the lens was part of the initial work done, a lens they never released. I'm not one to fall for things like this, butttttttttttt.....there is no other lens like this I've ever seen.

The details

Oakley Radarlock Pitch / Prizm
The lens says prizm on it where it should, problem is the lens is also polarized (but is NOT the Daily polarized color). Its brown when looking through the lens, but has the green hues we know to be the Oakley Prizm Golf lens.

So....it looks like Prizm Golf from the front, but not the typical pinkish contrast color when viewing through the lens. The polarization is also confirmed, easily done when looking at the Oakley Polarized lens displays, or even easier by looking at my computer screen with the lens to my eyes (as you know polarized and lcd screens do not get along).

Anyone have anything they can add to the convo?

Right now the best I can describe this is a Prototype Prizm Polarized lens (non Daily...confirmed polarized)

Any help would be great.

The quick answer is "yes" a lot of us have gotten prototype, one off, athlete exclusive, etc. lenses through a variety of channels. Whether yours is a off or something coming up as a regular release in the future is unknown to me since I can't really tell from the pics (could it be Prism Trail Polarized?).

PS. I know there isn't a Trail Polarized right now but there are upcoming lenses, so not sure if it is one of those. If so, rather than a prototype, you may have gotten an advanced release of it (or Prizm Golf). Just a possibility.

Yeah, i wasn't sure what to call it. Your explanation makes much more sense.

Athlete exclusive, one off. Ok, better to know the lingo vs. calling everything a prototype lol

Thanks Oak
