Its not a ShoeOne but I did just pick up a pair of ShoeThree in goldenrod (yellow) almost new. The interesting thing is it has a metal icon on the side instead of the stitched logo like my red pair.
An Iron Man themed shoe/boot would be a great idea. In fact, the next time Oakley puts out glasses for a movie, they should get the license for footwear as well.
Another pair of those elusive and somewhat questionable copper shoes ended on Ebay last night. I know Jim said they never made a shoe in copper but I still have a hard time believing that a shoe would fade equally all over. Also some were saying this was the black version faded out, how come only part of it faded out? Im still not convinced.
Right. Like only every-other thread faded. Doesn't make as much sense. Plus i have a copper soft vault and those were all scraps from the shoeone. So many mysteries.
They do discolor. The Icon 2.0 I brought to RED is more Red/Cream/Blue instead of RWB now. Which it turned a nice copper, but it's just a sort of ugly yellow.
Historically re releases always make the originals more valuable. If only because they become more known and the audience expands. I doubt we will see a new release, but one can only hope.
Kevlar is highly UV-sensitive, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's what caused a colour change. I've had it happen to other synthetics. If the weave appears two different colours, it's possible the fibers could have had different levels of exposure prior to manufacture, and then some sunshine finished the job.
