For me, the Palace logo on the ej bridge doesn't work as well as on the Mumbo where it was in an Oakley style font.

I was in for $150 but $195 was too much for me. I’m wasn’t too excited for the Palace text either.

I'm surprised how disliked the "Palace" logo is. I thought it's a nice little finishing touch on a collab.

I just plain forgot about the 11am EST release time, so I missed out. Since I'm not an EJ fan, I'm thankful the decision was taken off my hands.

A new model started selling just minutes ago, but it was a display of sold out from the beginning.

It was not sold to Japan.

I have no plan to buy, so there is no problem.

Agree; Should have had Oakley across the bridge and Palace etched on the lens...

I feel like they're the type were if I looked closer at the bridge, I'd expect to see OAKEY®

Still don’t know where the EVZero version is but here’s the Factory Fade Radar EV maybe both will release this month or next?

I'm not terribly fond of special editions or signature series releases just as a matter of personal preference. I find most of the colorways always have at least one thing that pulls me back from it be it frame color, lens choice, or (on this case) branding placement. There are certain SE models I do like, but only because they hit all the right spots for me.

On the other hand, it is encouraging to see a re-release of a classic frame like the EJ. While i'm not necessarily excited about these particular Palace editions, I am excited this is leading to a more general release with new frame colors and Prizm lens options. That said, I have been initially excited with past releases only to lose my enthusiasm once I saw how the particular model progressed. So only time will tell if this happens with the EJ and where it goes after that. But if a wider release does happen and the EJ gets some unique colorways, then the Palace editions would end up being a good thing overall since they would have effectively marked the EJs return to retail.

Holy shit. I can’t believe they are selling that, especially for that price. I guess the cache of being on the runway commands a premium, but some motorcycle spikes, a drill, a screw driver and 15 minutes gets you the same custom.
