Does anyone know if the Mainlink is larger than the Chainlink? It almost looks to be Jupiter Squared sized. I won't be able to make it out to an O store any time soon to see for my self. ;) - rsuarez1982

Looks like the new stuff just dropped. Thinlink, Mainlink, Stringer, Carbon Shift, and the Machinist collection are all there. That Carbon Shift looks pretty badass:

http://www.oakley.com/en/mens/new-arrivals/new-sunglasses/category/m0101?nav=TN-Mens_Sunglasses_New-Arrivals_1 - skull.jacket

HYPE!

For anyone asking, yes the mainlink is larger than a chainlink. I feel like it's almost like a sport version of the classic holbrook/sliver

The thinlink is a big question mark for me, not sure it I love it or hate it.

Carbon shift is cool, but compared to the SF16 it just doesn't hold its own.

I have yet to get my hands on a stringer also! Anyone knows how it compares to a latch and a breadbox?

I also want to check something with you folks, have the prices seen any variations recently? The Canadian prices have fluctuated a little this week, variations across the board apparently, have to check when I get into work this weekend to see what has changed and what hasn't, but apparently pretty widespread price variations according to coworkers.

Any changes down south?

Cheers!

Ordered one up and hope the red arrives - fingers crossed. - YellowA4

Mines arrived today... still the yellow one even though the color way suffix on the box says 22n. I even ordered on the ohkne to tell the rep to make sure it is the RED one. Tsk tsk - HED4JC

Wow, I can't believe they screwed it up a second time. I think it's safe to say there'll be no red release on the MW Carabiner.

Almost every release cycle, I see some changes from the prices listed in the documents, to the actual retail. Seems like they often make a last minute adjustment before it becomes a pain to change everything across all the stores.

astarias, I haven't noticed anything but wouldn't be surprised if the Canadian prices fluctuated a bit. CAD$ was dropping like a stone for a bit, so I expect companies to mitigate the exchange risk with some adjustments. I just hope the SF16-C doesn't increase from its $2,500 CAD retail price.

Dann: Sorry I did mean previously releases things, R1 prices are always subject to change compared to catalogs of course.

Oak: yeah I have no confirmation about R1, but the only thing I have had an actual number for so far is a Fingerprint Frogskins going up from 125$ to 145$. I'll have more news this weekend as I'll spend a big part of saturday morning looking over prices to make sure I don't screw up when talking to customers lol. My preliminary findings seem to indicate a small bump across ALL SKUs, still more research to be done! I won't be surprised if this bump is effective for everything considering how horid the dollar is these days...

Carbon Shift is definitely much more tame than SF16... but I think I actually like it better. It has a sleek, clean look to it that seems to work well, at least in pictures.

I got the stringer today. Suprisingly, it fits more like a Frogskin then anything else. Lenses are smaller then the Latch. Nothing at all like a breadbox.

There was a lot of price changes that I noticed it in US Oakley stores last week, should be reflected at oakley.com soon I would think. Looks like a lot of the newer SKUs were affected. Looks like there is now only a $30 difference in going from Non Polarized to Polarized, and only a $10 difference in choosing Prizm.

Do they all have the etching? From the pictures, I only see it on the Frogskins. Is it on the other lens on the other ones?

So after having a look this weekend, this seems to be how most prices accross the board are reflected. New models didn't show up yet so we'll see when these get here, but with the $CAD pricing, this seems to be how prices have been moved around:

1) Base price for a model with standar lens
2) extra 20$ish for Iridium
3) extra 40$ from Iridium to Polarized
4) Little to no difference right now between polarized and iridium polarized?!
5)10$ish from polarized to prizm polarized?

The sliver was the first model I saw with that link between prices:

Matte tortoise/ warm gray : 150$
Pol clear/ Sapphire : 170$
Pol black/ prizm daily polarized: 220$

Also special editions seems to be going for an extra 20$, Valentino Rossi Sliver with Fire being 190$ as an example.

Some other models haven't moved prices, and some oddballs have exploded, like the alpine collection going up to $165 from $125 (there goes my hope of picking up the last alpine I was missing especialy considering we've only got a demo left lol)

Can't wait to finally get R1 now to keep looking at how prices are moving around!

Thanks for the info, will look into them and let you know if I ever need a hand! Lots of changes in the pricepoints in general making this a weird time for stores, regulars scratching their heads a little about the changes and logic between pricepoints and lens types
