Nice stuff. Any thoughts on doing the chronograph pushers and clasp button red as well? - Oak
I did consider those, but the chrono buttons have tiny clips retaining them to the springs, and losing them would render it useless, so not wanting to go that route, plus I like them blacked out so the crown is the focal point up there. As for the clasp release, I also thought of that, but the owner wanted it left alone and since paint is more prone to chips and wear and tear that Cerakote is strong against, it was a no brainer. I would actually use a Cerakote color for them, but he was specific to make sure the color of the accents was the same as the face, and I had to blend that color.
me LOVE!
with your contacts did you manage to find just the bracelets? as id love to upgrade my unobtanium time tank. - LEX7
I have not been able to acquire 1 single bracelet yet. It is rather disappointing to be honest. The watch should be complete next week sometime, so I can show her off as a whole.
Geez Chop talk about blowing us away.....that is awesome mate. Truly Awesome! Very much looking forward to the final product. - warwagon
I think the days of dreaming about something are gone, and making those dreams a reality are upon us. Technology is allowing us to do cool things, and determination are as well. When I was approached (and the owner is an employee, not from HQ, but still), I was asked "Do You Think" and that is sometimes all it takes. After talking with Jim and listening to his stories at the RED event, it made me think "why do I give a sh!t what the guys at HQ think of what I do, or anyone else for that matter?" I am doing something for the people that doesn't degrade the brand, it only helps sell more items just so people can send them to me, or other guys doing similar things with them. When they don't make it and someone wants it, there has to be a way to achieve getting that item or making it the way you want it, much like that of a custom Hot Rod or Show Car. That man took something and improved it, and turned that into a multi billion dollar corporation we all covet. Am I that much of a visionary, or "Madman"...No, but I am willing to try for someone who wants it done. If they don't recognize the value in this niche, shame on them. The lens guys are hammering out junk by the truckloads, and Oakley just keeps disco'ing stuff. Shame on them...
