A couple that I have quick and easy access to:

The right one is called the Overpross, their first ultra limited pair:

Still need to get one of these.
But I got in contact with one of their rep' who told me that they're made of stainless steel and not titanium.
Quite deceptive when you look at the price :/

Going through my Persol-stock I noticed some changes that Lux made to the Persol Meflecto system.

The meflecto system is one of Persols unique selling points, that made lots of people love Persol. What they did now, is that they decided to remove the meflecto-system in quite a couple of their models and just gave the glasses cheap-ish spring hinges. Added to that they kept the looks of the meflecto-system in the earstems.

This just causes the overall feel of the glasses to have gone down. Another amazingly stupid move to cut costs.

I have to admit that the quality of Persol is quite great actually. But this is a shame... Luckily there still are models with the genuine meflecto-system.

For those that don't know the system, you can check it out here:

I wonder what, if it is true, will the acquisition of TH do to our watches, or vice versa (hopefully NOT the latter!)

I am not sure if it would mean that they only acquired a license for the glasses if it is true. I don't think they acquired the brand... But I am not sure about that of course.

Another "big thing" today, Hublot is going to launch a sunglasses line. They look quite good I think, A shame they use CR39 lenses though.

Does anyone have access to a soft copy of the 2014 Chrome Hearts eyewear catalog?

Shwood x Louisville Slugger. The 'Select' versions have pretty cool packaging with the custom box and bat:

These Silhouette Futura's are already haunting me for a little while. I am considering to get a pair, still, it's hard to find them online for a decent price.

I really love them, they represent quite an icon in eyewear history. But they are extremely contemporary at the same time.

(Ok, Tali Lennox also adds to the glasses of course ;-))

I didn't even realize they did a re-release/redesign of the pair. The originals are quite the collectors item:

Yeah, I know, they go for prices around the 2500-3000 euro mark. I think I will never have one of them in my possession. This is actually the second rerelease of this futura model. The previous one looked like this:

I know one the second rerelease for sale for a nice price. Considering to get that one.

I found the new ones for a quite reasonable price, but only the black and the white one. Not too sure what color to get...

Of course, yesterday we had the news about the change of leadership within Lux.

Today there is some more big news. Kering Group (formerly Pinault-Printemps) is starting their own eyewear division. This means that all of their brands, that are currently licensed will be taken from the Licensees. This will especially mean a big hit for Safilo, which has quite some brands of Kering within their portfolio. Recently they renewed their license for Gucci, which will run till 2021, this will be bought off by Kering.

I haven't followed Dita x Thom Browne in a while, but I'm really liking the upper bridge on this one:

Not eyewear industry news, but I recently picked up one of the best purchases I've made in a long time, the Matsuda 2809H. The 2809H is a reissue of the 2809 from the '90s, which of course is the Matsuda eyewear used in Terminator 2. The glasses in the movie were antique gold I think, but I opted for antique silver instead:

I'll eventually have to get the original 2809 to say I have the movie glasses, but in the meantime I've found my new daily wearer.

Nice. Even though I don't follow non-Oakley glasses, these have stuck in my mind since watching the movie ages ago.

Matsuda is always great, congrats on those!
I don't own any Matsudas, but one day I will have to get some, definitely.

I want a pair of matsudas like the ones Robert Downey jr wore in Iron Man III.

Anyone wearing Chrome Hearts? Really liking the sterling silver accents and zeiss lenses.

I haven't worn any Chrome Hearts from their sunglasses line in a long time, but I do wear their ophthalmic frames as part of my regular rotation. If the current sunglass frames have long term durability like the Rx frames, you're good to go. Chrome Hearts have the best quality and most comfortable Rx frames I have ever used, and I've used quite a lot. I tend to stick to their wood/titanium stuff, but my wife swears by her acetate frames.

I have a couple pair of Chrome Hearts in the collection, but I was just wondering if anyone else had worn them. I don't use them, they just sit there mostly. The optics are quite amazing. The Zeiss lenses are really clear on another level. They are more of a jewelry grade eye-wear though. I'm sure they would stand up to daily use, but they really are more for a night out on the town, than a daily wear. They're just so expensive that I have not really kept up with them. The one other interesting thing about these are the names. They get their names from the sales reps, as I was told, and they can be quite inappropriate in the wrong company, lol.

Zeiss glass/crystal lenses are indeed amazing. I love them as much as the Barberini VFX lenses in Oliver Peoples.

Chrome Hearts are indeed extravagant glasses, but don't hesitate to wear them if you're able to pull them off for daily wear. Despite the pricetag and the extravagance, they really are built to last. The Chrome Hearts pairs I have are low key and are amazing for daily wear.

Yes, the names are super inappropriate (who wants to wear something called the "First Facial"?). The only other time I found a name to be inappropriate on any other brand was Oakley's "Daisy Chain."

Ok. I had to google that. Never heard of "daisy chain". Found it on urban dictionary. Lol.
